Women Inspiring Women Breakfast
The Shawnee Chamber's Women Inspiring Women Affinity Group January 7 meeting will be at 8:15 A.M, at Rize N Shine. Each Women Inspiring Women meeting offers Shawnee area working ladies the chance to network with one another and to dive into a special topic.
Lani Myer, Nurse Practitioner at Lani Wellness and Beauty; Dawn Rattan, EverFit;
will explore and explain the interconnected nature of physical, mental and emotional well-being in women.
- Importance of exercise: Discussing the role of regular physical activity in maintaining overall health, increasing energy levels, improving heart health, and boosting longevity.
- Types of fitness for women: Exploring different fitness routines that cater to women's unique needs, such as strength training, yoga, pilates, cardio, and group fitness.
- Addressing barriers: Understanding barriers women may face when it comes to fitness (e.g., time constraints, societal expectations, body image issues) and how to overcome them.
- Nutrition and diet: The role of a balanced diet in women's health, including the importance of specific nutrients like iron, calcium, protein, and healthy fats, as well as managing common health conditions such as osteoporosis, PCOS, and hormonal imbalances.
- Preventative healthcare: Discussing the importance of regular check-ups, screening, and self-care practices for early detection of diseases, including breast cancer and heart disease, which may affect women more than men.
- Reproductive health: Addressing topics such as menstrual health, pregnancy, menopause, and the impact these stages have on a woman’s physical health and how to manage them effectively.
- Psychological well-being: The panel would explore how fitness, lifestyle, and diet contribute to mental clarity, reduced stress, and overall psychological health.
